Dialogue session entitled “Intolerance and its impact on societal cohesion”

Zameen Organization for Development and Peacebuilding held a dialogue session, on 10/10/2022, within the project to enhance civil cohesion and accountability, at its main center in the city of Qamishli, northeastern Syria, in the presence of a number of participants from clerics, community leaders, media, civil activists, as well as community mediators, from All groups, nationalities and religions present in the island region

The goal of the activity is to create a safe space for dialogue and communication between followers of nationalities and religions present in the island territory

Knowing the reality and repercussions of intolerance from the national and religious standpoints, and coming up with recommendations in order to reduce intolerance

The activity sheds light on national and religious intolerance and its repercussions and impact on societal cohesion, as fanaticism from the religious and national sides is one of the most deadly dangers to societies, and disrupts their fabric, and the relationships between their members, in various aspects of life.

The activity was concluded with a set of recommendations proposed by the participants with the aim of reducing national and religious intolerance in the Jazira region, as well as other regions in north and east Syria.
