
A Dialoge seminar entitled “The Social Contract Charter for Democratic Self-Management”
Zameen Organization for Development and Peacebuilding held on 20/09/2022 a dialogue discussion entitled: The Charter of the Social Contract for Democratic Autonomous Administration, in the city of Qamishli, as part of the project “Strengthening Civil Cohesion and Accountability”(ECCA)

A group of civil activists, media professionals, human rights defenders, civil society institutions and clerics participated in the symposium, in addition to the presence of participants who are part of the Social Contract Charter Committee.
The symposium dealt with the social contract as a necessity and a possibility in the context of northern and eastern Syria, and the mechanisms of drafting the social contract and the structure of the drafting committee were highlighted. The symposium came out with a set of recommendations for a charter that meets the aspirations of individuals and groups in northern and eastern Syria, such as the need to take into account the social and cultural nature of the region, and its accuracy and clarity away from interpretable terms and ideological terms, as well as the need for the media to keep pace with developments in drafting the contract, and then a popular referendum on The draft of the social contract, emphasizing the necessity of activating the terms of the social contract on the ground in all regions of northern and eastern Syria.
