Dialogue session on “communication and active participation among the components of the Al-Jazeera region”

On Thursday, August 25, 2022, Zameen Organization for Development and Peacebuilding held a dialogue session entitled: “Communication and Active Participation among the Components of Al-Jazirah Region”, in the city of Qamishli, as part of the project “Strengthening Civil Cohesion and Accountability”(ECCA)

16 participants from different segments of society and from different components of the region participated in the dialogue session. The session included civil and media activists, representatives of community organizations, the Senate and the Forum of Religions, in north and east Syria, as well as the displaced.

The objective of the activity is to know the factors that support or impede communication and participation between the various components in the Jazira region, and what are the strategies, mechanisms and tools that will advance the reality, raise the level of communication and participation, and search for obstacles in order to achieve effective participation between the various components of the region.

The session concluded with a set of recommendations and proposals that would support the social fabric between the various components of the region, such as the participation of all components in public affairs, drafting modern laws that are far from ideology, combating extremism and hate speech, supporting civil society and advancing the economic and service reality, as well as paying attention to education and its development.
